A Light Where Death Casts Its Shadow: The Prediction of Christmas
Message Text: Isaiah 9:1-7
Bro David. Mills
Last Sunday, we looked at the Preparation of Christmas in the law of the Old Testament. Today, we will see the Prediction of Christmas in the prophets of the Old Testament. Given the truthfulness and accuracy of these predictions in the Word of God, would you not see the absolute wisdom in placing all your trust in the biblical predictions concerning the Second Coming of Christ?
The Prediction of Christmas in the Prophets
- He will be God (Isaiah 9.6)
- Yet, He will be the descendant of King David, born in Bethlehem, and from Galilee (Isaiah 11.1, 9.1 and 7, Jeremiah 23.5-6, Micah 5.2)
- And He will visit the Temple, only to be killed around AD 30, as an offering for the sins of the world (Malachi 3.1, Daniel 9.25-26, Zechariah 12.10, and Isaiah 53.6 and 10)
- But the He will rise to life again (Isaiah 9.7 and 53.11)
- And to clearly announce the Kingdom of God is established forever and Christ is Lord! (Zechariah 14.1,4 and 9 regarding Acts 1.8-12a)
